John Gwilliam

John has been practising in Upper Hutt since 1986 and started his private practice in 1992. His specialisations are litigation in Criminal Law, Family Law and General Civil Law and he has taken cases through the High Court and the Court of Appeal.
Joseph Griffiths
Principal & Director
Joseph’s specialty is criminal and family litigation, in particular relationship property matters, but he also works in all areas of general practice. Joseph has extensive court experience appearing on a wide range of criminal and traffic matters, including representation of clients for jury trials and appeals to the High Court and Court of Appeal. He has also studied Mandarin in Taiwan.
Suné Hume
Associate and Senior Registered Legal Executive
Suné is our Senior Registered Legal Executive and a Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Legal Executives. This enables Suné to take statutory declarations and certify certain documents for our clients. Most recently Suné has been appointed as an Associate of the firm in recognition of her service to Main Street Legal and its clients.
Michelle Beeby
Solicitor
Michelle has worked extensively in all areas of general practice since being admitted to the bar in 2006. Michelle represents clients in the District Court and Family Court and will be specialising in Criminal, Family and Traffic law.
Arnaka Bright
Registered Legal Executive
Arnaka is a Registered Legal Executive and Associate member of the New Zealand Institute of Legal Executives. She started her legal career in Blenheim in 2020, before relocating to Upper Hutt, joining our team in 2023.
